The first of those steps is to examine the pedestal that is situated in the Shrine of Resurrection. This action will give players access toBreath of the Wild’s Sheikah Slateand open the nearby door. There are two chests beyond that door, and fans should collect the Old Shirt and Well-Worn Trousers from within them before interacting with another pedestal and heading outside.

Players will be treated to a short cutscene upon emerging from the Shrine of Resurrection, and they should make their way toward theOld Manand his campfire when it concludes. Players should then speak withBreath of the Wild’s Old Manand then explore until they hear a voice that initiates the Follow the Sheikah Slate quest. Notably, there is a pair ofHylian Trousersin a chest justnortheast of the Temple of Time, and fans are advised to pick them up while they wait for the voice to come.

After receiving Follow the Sheikah Slate, players should make their way to the location that has been marked on the in-game map. There is a pedestal at this location, and fans should examine it to initiate a cutscene. When that cutscene concludes, players should carefully climb downBreath of the Wild’s Great Plateau Towerand speak with the Old Man at the bottom to complete the first Main Quest.

After speaking with the Old Man at the bottom of the Great Plateau Tower and starting the Isolated Plateau quest, players should follow the Old Man until he stops walking. From this position, players will see a Shrine, a very important type of structure inBreath of the Wild, and they should go toward it as soon as it is possible to do so. Upon arriving at the Shrine, players should examine the pedestal in front and use the elevator to enter.

Oman Au Shrine (Magnesis Trial)

Players will now find themselves inside the Oman Au Shrine, and they should examine the nearby pedestal to receive theMagnesis Rune. ThisBreath of the Wildabilityallows Link to lift metal objects, and fans will have several opportunities to use it within the Shrine. The first of those opportunities is situated just to the right of the pedestal, as players must use Magnesis to lift one of twometal platformsand reveal a path.

Fans should now follow that path to reach a wall ofstacked blocks. One of those blocks is made from metal, and players should grab it with Magnesis and use it to clear the way.

After passing through the block wall, players will encounter aGuardian Scout, which can be destroyed with the metal block that was just used. More specifically, fans can grab the block with Magnesis and then drop it upon the Guardian Scout or use it to push it into the water. If a player has picked up a weapon by this time, they can also beat thisBreath of the Wildenemywith straightforward melee attacks.

Beyond the Guardian Scout, players will cross ametal platform, which must be moved with Magnesis to bridge the gap that looks to halt Link’s progress. After walking over this platform in its new position, players should look to the left to find acheston an elevated ledge. This chest can be brought down with Magnesis, and there is one ofBreath of the Wild’s Traveler’s Bowsinside.

Once that ranged weapon has been claimed, players should use Magnesis one last time to open thelarge metal doorsthat are ahead. This action will give fans access to the Oman Au Shrine’s monk, and interacting with him will award a Spirit Orb and send Link back to the Shrine’s entrance.

Upon emerging from the Oman Au Shrine, players will once again converse with theOld Man. When that conversation reaches its conclusion, fans should open themap inBreath of the Wild, fast travel to theGreat Plateau Tower, and speak with the Old Man at the top. This will lead to tutorial on how to use the Sheikah Slate’s scope to set waypoints, and players can use the feature to mark three more Shrines on the Great Plateau. For full clarity, this map showcases the positions of those Shrines:

Players must now focus on completing the remaining Shrines on the Great Plateau, and this guide will start with theJa Baij Shrinein thesoutheast corner. Notably, fans will encounter several ofBreath of the Wild’s Guardiansin the ruins around this Shrine, and they must be careful to not get hit by the beams that these enemies fire. It is also worth mentioning that it is easiest to reach the Ja Baij Shrine by climbing the walls that surround it, though it is also possible to use a Guardian’s beam to clear a path.

Ja Baij Shrine (Remote Bomb Trial)

After interacting with the pedestal in front of the Ja Baij Shrine and descending into it, players should examine the pedestal in the first room to receive theRemote Bomb Runes. These Runes can be used to place explosives that can be detonated from a distance, and they allowBreath of the Wild’s Linkto break through various materials. One type of material that can be destroyed with Remote Bombs arecracked blocks, which fans will encounter after descending the nearby ramp.

Beyond those blocks,Breath of the Wildplayersshould take a right and use the Remote Bomb Rune once again to access achestcontaining a Traveler’s Claymore. Fans should then head in the other direction and climb aladderto reach a room with amoving platform. A Remote Bomb should be placed upon this platform, and it should be detonated when it is near the cracked-block wall on the other side to clear a path forward.

Players will now find themselves in a room with severallaunching devices, and they should use the launcher on the far left to fling Link toward a chest containing Amber. Fans should then make their way to the device on the right side of the room and place one ofBreath of the Wild’s Remote Bombsinside the attachedfunnel. This will ultimately cause the bomb to be shot toward a stack of cracked blocks, and fans should detonate the explosive as it draws near to those objects to clear a path to the Shrine’s monk.

With the Ja Baij Shrine finished, fans should navigate toBreath of the Wild’s Temple of Timeand follow the path that moves in asouthwesterly direction. This path will lead players toward anarch, and they should pick theSpicy Peppersfrom the plants that are near it. Fans should now head slightly north to encounter aBokoblin camp, and then dispatch all the enemies that they find there.

Once the Bokoblin camp has been cleared, players should pick up a Boko Club and use it to transfer the flame from the campfire to the nearbypot. This will make it possible to cook within the pot, and fans should now open their inventories, select the Spicy Pepper from the Materials section, and “hold” five of them. Players should now “return to game” and cook theseBreath of the WildSpicy Peppersin the pot to createSpicy Sauteed Peppers, a dish that provides some temporaryCold Resistance. Notably, it is wise to cook some extra Spicy Sauteed Peppers at this point, though players that complete the next sections quickly will not need them.

The Cold Resistance that is granted by the Spicy Sauteed Peppers allows Link to traverse the snowy biome beyond the aforementioned arch without taking damage, and fans should take a left immediately upon entering the area. Players should then follow the path ahead, climb when they reach a dead end, and then advance to the edge of the area. From here, players should climb down and to the left to reach theOwa Daim Shrine.

Owa Daim Shrine (Stasis Trial)

Interacting with the pedestal in the Owa Daim Shrine’s first room will give players access to theStasis Rune, which can be used to temporarily freeze objects in place.Breath of the Wildfansshould try this out on thelarge gearthat is nearby and use the platform that has been stopped to proceed forward.

As players continue through the Owa Daim Shrine, they will encounter a largeball rolling down a ramp. Fans should climb this ramp until they reach the walkway that bisects it, using Stasis to stop the ball as needed. Notably, there is achestcontaining a Traveler’s Shield at the ramp’s highest point, and players can access it by waiting for the ball to pass them while standing safely on the walkway and then making a run for it.

While working through the Shrine’s next area, players should pick up theIron Sledgehammerthat is leaning against a wall and then use Stasis on thelarge ball that blocks their path. Before this ball becomes unfrozen, fans shouldhit itwith their newBreath of the Wildweaponrepeatedly to store momentum within the object. This will cause the ball to launch when it is ultimately released from the Stasis ability, allowing players to reach the Owa Daim Shrine’s monk.

There is now just one more Shrine to complete it, and players can reach it by climbing the wall to thewestof the Owa Daim Shrine and moving in anorthwesterlydirection. As fans follow this route, they are advised to make a quick stop by thepeak of Mount Hylia. Here, players will find the Old Man, and he will hand over theWarm Doublet, a piece ofarmor inBreath of the Wildthat provides Could Resistance.

Keh Namut Shrine (Cryonis Trial)

Upon entering the Keh Namut Shrine, players should interact with the nearby pedestal to earn theCryonis Rune. This Rune can be used to create pillars of ice in water, and fans should try it out in the nearbypool. Players should then climb the pillar that they have created to access thisBreath of the WildShrine’s next area.

In this next area, players will find agate, which can be raised by using Cryonis underneath it. Fans will enter combat with aGuardian Scoutbeyond that gate, and they should dispatch the enemy before using Cryonis to access a nearbyalcovein which achestis housed. Players should then simply continue forward, place an ice pillar under one side of the seesaw that they encounter, and then use that seesaw as a ramp to reach the Keh Namut Shrine’s monk on the next level.

The Old Man will come to visit Link once he emerges from the final Shrine, and players should go to theTemple of Timewhen the conversation ends. Fans should then enter the Temple and pray to theGoddess Statuethat is inside. During this prayer, players will have the opportunity to exchange the fourBreath of the WildSpirit Orbsthat they earned from completing the Shrines for a Heart Container or Stamina Vessel, and both are reasonable selections.

Players should now climb theladderthat is on the exterior of theTemple of Time’s east wallto reach the roof. Fans should then turn right and interact with the Old Man ahead. This will trigger a cutscene, and players will receiveBreath of the Wild’s Paragliderand their next Main Quests when it reaches its conclusion.

To note, there is some optional content on the Great Plateau that players may want to pursue before embarking on those next quests. Primarily, that content manifests asBreath of the Wild’s Great Plateau Korok Seeds, and there are 18 of these collectibles to be found.
