Some of these new assets are full outfits seemingly inspired byWorld of Warcraftsuperstars Sylvanasand Varian. The Sylvanas outfit is reminiscent of her appearance duringLegionandBattle for Azerothbut features the exposed midriff of her designs inWarcraft 3,Heroes of the Storm, and early expansions. She has gone through a half dozen unique models inWorld of Warcraft, but these new items resemble Sylvanas' most iconic pre-Shadowlandslooks.

The Varian outfit is almost identical to his Lo’gosh armor from the comics, also seen as an alternate skin for the character inHeroes of the Storm. Lo’gosh was the name given to Varian in theWorld of Warcraftcomic where he was kidnapped and forced to fight in an Orcish arena. He never appeared inWorld of Warcraftwearing the Horde-esque armor he sports in the comic, saveduring aWoWPatch 10.1.5 dailywhere he wore an outfit different from this new high-resolution design, begging the question of what this gear might be for.

These models have no items, spells, or other game features attached to them yet, so there is no way of knowing where they might appear or if players could collect them. It is possible they could be quest rewards, cash shop items, or transmogs fromWorld of Warcraft’s Trading Post, or they might only be for NPC use. It is also possible they could never appear in the game at all.

That said, manyWorld of Warcraftfans hope they do show up. Sylvanas’ iconic look is part of why her fans love her so much, and many would enjoy dressing up their Dark Rangers in her old gear. Likewise, Varian’s Lo’gosh outfit–which seemingly has two color variations–would be amazing for Orcs or barbarian-themed Warrior transmogs. Some pointed out that ifWoWmakes these outfits available, they might get transmogs from other beloved characters like Jaina or Khadgar in the future. Players will have to wait and see what Blizzard is planning with these outfits, and if they are the start of a new trend forWorld of Warcraft.
