World of Warcraft: Classicis rolling out some content in a phased approach and Battleground are a part of that system. Although we don’t know the exact date of the Battlegrounds launch, we do know a bit of information about what will be coming to theClassic serversand which phase the content will arrive during.

Alterac Valley (version 1.12) and Warsong Gulch, alongside with their associated vendors will both be available inWoW Classic.
When Will Battleground Be Available In WoW Classic?
WoW Classic’splanned content has been broken down into six phases. We’re currently in the first phase and PvP Battlegrounds are going to be released as a part of phase three. Phase two rolls our the Honor System, but there will still only be world PvP until phase three hits. At this point, Blizzard has not estimated when phase two or three will release.
Some players speculate that these releases will vary depending on how quickly the average players progress through the Classic content. There are theories that each phase will be spaced out by three or four months, but right now that is just speculation.
Will WoW Classic Battlegrounds be Cross-Realm?
“Cross-realm battlegrounds were a feature of 1.12 and are important for matchmaking, so you’ll be seeing cross-realm battlegrounds inWoW Classicwhen Battlegrounds are introduced in Phase 3 of the content roll-out plan.”
Cleary there are still a lot of unconfirmed details up in the air when it comes to Battlegrounds. It’s very exciting to know that Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch are on the way, but PvP fans (who have selectedthe bestWoWClassic PvP classes) are still going to be on the dark in terms of a release date for at least a bit longer.
Blizzard is definitely just focusing on keeping theClassiclaunch as smooth as possible for now, but it seems very likely that additional details about future content will start to roll out after things slow down and the average players start to progress through the game a bit further.
Until PvP content launches, there is still plenty thatWoW Classicplayers can do to keep busy. Obviously leveling takes up a lot of time, but mastering professions and making enough Gold to purchase those expensive riding skills are also great activities to use to stay busy while waiting for phase three details to arrive.
