The newest trailer for EA and Omega Force’sWild Heartsfeatures the game’s mysterious Karakuri technology, showing the many ways players can use it.The new IP from Omega Forcemade waves when it was first revealed in September, showing off colossal beasts and gorgeous landscapes. One of the biggest draws for many fans was the game’s unique technology-focused Karakuri system. Now, a new trailer shares some of the in-game applications of the Karakuri.
Wild Hearts’early trailers have placed a heavy emphasis on the Karakuri, teasing the many creations players can build within theOmega Forceaction game. Previous trailers have shown off everything from hammer traps to explosive mines with the Karakuri providing players many different ways to take down the “Kemono.” Karakuri can also be used to build towers for players to use for vantage points with ranged attacks or powerful leaping strikes on enemies. Now,Wild Heartsis unveiling even more uses for the technological traps.

Wild Hearts' newest gameplay showcase, titled “The Power of Karakuri,” gives players a glimpse into the potential of the technological mechanics inthe EA/Omega Force collaboration. Alongside the previously revealed towers and hammer traps, players will be able to create a netted wall structure which causes airborne enemies to bounce back. Harpoon traps will be able to keep enemies locked in place, allowing the player to move in for big damage. The Karakuri can also give a player’s weapon special properties, with a torch created by the Karakuri shown to imbue the weapon with fire.
While combat is the major focus of the trailer,Wild Heartsalso shares several ways players can use the Karakuri to traverse the game’s sprawling landscapes. The trailer reveals large wind fans made using the Karakuri, propelling players high into the air with their glider. A wheel-shaped vehicle will allow players to quickly travel throughout the game’s regions, while others will help withWild Hearts’fishing, create practice dummies, and even “provide guidance” for players in the form of beacon towers. The video concluded by confirming the game will receive another new trailer duringthe 2022 Game Awards.
With only a few months left untilWild Hearts' launch, Omega Force has given players plenty of reason to be excited about the ambitious new franchise from theDynasty Warriorsdeveloper.Wild Heartswill look to contend withgaming mainstayMonster Hunterwith the two games sharing similar premises of combating colossal monsters. The project will also be the first major collaboration between Omega Force and EA, being published under the “EA Originals” label. The Karakuri will look to helpWild Heartsstand out from the pack when it launches early next year.
Wild Heartswill release on February 17 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
