Today, fans have the opportunity to pick up anXbox Series XorSeries Sconsole, with pre-orders going live at 8 AM PST. Of course, theSeries X sold out at EB Gamesin about 20 minutes, so fans will likely need to be quick if they want to secure one for themselves. Plus, they’ll likely be working against bots, which makes the situation more difficult.
Luckily, there are plenty of places topre-order a Series X, so fans will be able to try their hands at multiple retailers before the day is done, though they’ll likely be increasingly difficult to find as time presses on. However, with a little bit of luck, fans should be able to grab one of the consoles without too much worry, if things go smoothly.

For those trying to ensure that they have a console at launch, there are a number of places to look, but it’s probably best to try one’s favorite retailer before anywhere else, just for familiarity’s sake. However, the bigger the retailer, the more attention it will likely end up drawing, so fans may want to strike a balance between familiarity and odds of success. With that in mind, here’s where the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S can be pre-ordered:
Walmart
Target
It’s worth noting that Amazon doesn’t appear to have any sort of landing page for theXbox Series S, which may have a lot of demand given how much more difficult the PS5 Digital has been to find than the standard console. There’s also the chance that these retailers may experience outages, downtime, or any other number of issues due to high volumes of traffic. It may be wise to have tabs open for multiple retailers, committing to whichever one ends up going the smoothest.
Unfortunately, not much else can be done beyond that. Recent gaming pre-orders have been a mix of luck and combatting bots, which has led to rampant scalping and price raising. Currently,RTX 3080 pre-orders are being re-sold on eBayfor thousands of dollars due to scalpers trying to turn a profit. It’s an unfortunate part of the pre-order situation, and one that will, hopefully, have a solution sometime in the future. In the meantime, all fans can do is refresh and hope they get one.
