Over on Twitter,Geoff Keighleyannounced that he would be hosting a livestream on Wednesday that will provide a behind-the-scenes look atThe Wolf Among Us 2. Keighley also confirmed that the livestream will include a brand-new trailer forThe Wolf Among Us 2, which should ultimately provide fans with better context in terms of what to expect from the game’s story.

While mostWolf Among Usfans will be excited to hear about additional story details, such as whichnew FablesWolf Among Us 2will focus on, this might also be a unique opportunity to show off new gameplay mechanics. Unlike previous Telltale installments,Wolf Among Us 2will be one of the first major games to be published under the newest Telltale studio, which could allow for gameplay innovation.

One of Telltale Games' greatest strengths as a studio is its storytelling, but the fundamental structure of Telltale’s game design has gone remarkably unchanged over the years. One of the few examples of innovation in Telltale Games was the decision to have two playable protagonists inTales From the Borderlands, and even then, there wasn’t that much discernable difference in game design. It was just a difference in narrative formatting.

As interactive storytelling games continue to grow in popularity, the standard gameplay principles continue to evolve as well. For example, theLife is Strangeseries has managed to reinvent itself with every new installment, not just in terms of storytelling, but also in terms of how individual players can approach each game on a mechanical level. This is whyThe Wolf Among Us 2potentially provides a chance for Telltale to diverge from its previous gameplay formatting. With any luck, more concrete information will be revealed during the upcoming livestream.
