Debuting all the way back in 1996, the Tokyo Game Show is one of the most consistent events in all of gaming, appearing annually every September. Though it doesn’t often yield too many new announcements, the Tokyo Game Show is usually a great spot for Japanese publishers and developers to give fans brief updates on their upcoming titles.Capcomis one such publisher and developer, appearing just about every year with a handful of games it’s ready to spotlight, both in person at the event and during its showcase livestream, which has quite the schedule laid out already.

What Fans Can Expect To See From Capcom At Tokyo Game Show 2023
While Capcom will be on the show floor forTokyo Game Show 2023’s entire four-day run, the biggest event for those not attending will be the developer’s pre-recorded showcase. Set to air on Thursday, September 21 at 7 AM PT, Capcom’s pre-recorded showcase will be livestreamed on Tokyo Game Show’s official YouTube channel, and will show off a handful of Capcom games, most of which have already been confirmed on the developer’s website.
According to Capcom’s official site, a total of four games will be spotlighted during its pre-recorded livestream on September 21. The first of these is an updated look attheApollo Justice:Ace Attorney Trilogy, a collection ofAce Attorneygames that are set to release in early 2024.Street Fighter 6will also have a spot in Capcom’s showcase, where the latest DLC character, A.K.I., is being detailed.Exoprimal’s Title Update 2 will be getting an overview. Finally,Dragon’s Dogma 2will receive another gameplay trailer, followed by the director of the game, Hideaki Itsuno, breaking the footage down.
While those are the only games Capcom currently has scheduled to appear during its live event, that doesn’t mean that it won’t sneak in a few more reveals and updates. On its website, Capcom also has some images fromResident Evil 4 VRandMonster Hunter Nowproudly placed on the front page. The most obvious explanation for this is that those games will likely be present on the show floor, letting players test these games out firsthand. But it could also mean thatResident Evil 4 VRandMonster Hunter Nowreceive a small look-in during Capcom’s Tokyo Game Show presentation, even if it’s only for a few moments or during an end-of-presentation montage.
Of course, there’s always room for some surprises as well, though Capcom doesn’t traditionally tend to reveal too much during the Tokyo Game Show. At the most, fans might get to see some smaller surprise announcements, such as yet another collection of classic titles like theAce Attorneyone, or something along the lines of last year’sResident EvilNintendo Switch Cloud announcement. For the most part, fans should expectCapcomto stick pretty closely to its current schedule, meaning that it’s highly unlikely that they’ll end up seeing any major reveals. This means that, unfortunately, something likeaResident Evil 9reveal, or anotherPragmataupdate is probably not coming in this year’s Tokyo Game Show.
