Universal Orlando Resort, located in the Sunshine State of Florida, officially revealed the opening date for its latest tourist landmark, DreamWorks Land. TheDreamWorks Landwalk-through experience will feature landscapes from some of DreamWorks most iconic franchises, includingKung Fu Panda,Trolls, and, of course,Shrek.
As Universal Orlando’s official website details, guests will have the opportunity to attend Shrek’s Swamp Meet, a meet-and-greet experience with Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey outside of Shrek’s cottage. Other attractions include Po Live!, a virtual training session withKung Fu Panda’s quirky protagonist, and the Trolls Trollercoaster, a family-friendly ride featuring a caterpillar Caterbus traversing a spider-infested forest. Aside from the main attractions, guests will have the privilege of visiting Mama Luna Feline Fiesta, King Harold’s Swamp Symphony, and Poppy’s Playground. There will be ample places to dine, buy merchandise, and meet the DreamWorks cast in the Character Zone.
DreamWorks Land will be open to the public on June 14, almost exactly three months after the release of DreamWorks' latest blockbuster,Kung Fu Panda 4. Universal Orlando is also home to Minion Land,The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Camp Jurassic, Springfield: Home of the Simpsons, and many more family play areas.
When Does DreamWorks Land Open?
DreamWorks Land will be located on the grounds of the old Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone near E.T. Adventure. Several DreamWorks characters will also feature in a new multisensory show called DreamWorks Imagination Celebration. In addition, Universal Studios Florida lagoon will come alive at night with a CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular, highlighting original scores from franchises inspiring Universal Orlando’s development,includingJurassic Park,Harry Potter,Ghostbusters,Jaws, and more.
This new and exciting lagoon show will feature 228 fountains, 4K projection mapping, original composition for each scene complemented by more than 600 drones. Along with the grand opening of DreamWorks Land comes all-new merchandise available for purchase, including clothing, headwear, and even beverage holders.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will also be entertaining guests with late-night showings of Hogwarts Always, a projection show set to the backdrop of Hogwarts Castle.
