While a simple goblin mob might be defeated with nothing more than a sword stroke, more powerful enemies will require far much more effort and analysis to defeat. This enemy has a variety of attacks, some of which require precise timing or specific movements in order to avoid. Whether the player plans on leaning on magic or melee attacks, there are a few things that every player should know when trying to take downBoss Scavenger.
The Boss Scavenger Basics
Boss Scavengercan beone of the game’s most frustrating enemiesto face, and many players will want to rush through the battle in order to get it over with. There are several good ways to defeat this boss, but one of the most reliable is to take things slow, focusing on defense rather than aggression, so the first important tip is to relax and approach the battle more cautiously.

The boss’sBomb Throwis easy to avoid by simply moving out of the way, andit’s important that the player pays attentionin order to do so since this attack deals a tremendous amount of damage if it’s allowed to connect. Another easy attack to deal with isBoss Scavenger’sKick.The kick doesn’t do any damage, but it does knock the player backward and will knock them down if they aren’t blocking when the attack connects, opening them up to further damage. When the boss has less than 25% health it will follow theKickwith aSliceattack, so it’s important to be wary towards the end.
How To Beat The Boss Scavenger
One ofBoss Scavenger’smost frequent and aggravating attacks is theSliding Slash.Even if the player is blocking it’s possible to be damaged by this attack if the player is moving. Without a good deal of practice against this boss, it’s difficult to tell whether theSliding Slashwill do damage to the player because the answer depends on when the attack actually connects. As long as the player’s shield is up, and they are moving backward, the player will normally block theSliding Slash,whereas moving in other directions can cause the boss’s attack to circumvent the shield and damage the player.Knowing how to make the most of one’s weaponsis vital here.

As is true insimilar tricky games,the player has a few ways to deal with most parts of this battle.Boss Scavenger’s Gun Attack,for example, can be dodged or blocked. Blocking it is the more reliable option, so it should be the player’s go-to, especially since theGun Attackdoes a large amount of damage. There’s no need to get punished unnecessarily.
The most difficult attack to avoid isBoss Scavenger’sGround Pound,which causes a damaging square wave to radiate out from the point of impact. The player cannot block this attack with their shield. Instead, they must dodge over the bright white section of the wave. The player can useBombsandFireballsto damageBoss Scavengerat a distance, and the boss often leaves openings for a counterattack after finishing one of his own moves. Because the boss becomes faster and more aggressive when he is low on health, it can be worth savingBombsandFireballsin order to take him down more quickly at the end and make surethis heroic foxstays alive.
