Although it was previously confirmed by Sony Pictures thatVenom 3was already in development, Marvel fans now have a fresh new update on the last part of the symbiote trilogy after Tom Hardy shared a picture of the movie’s script that might suggest Kelly Marcel has wrapped up that part fo the film.
Marcel has worked on bothVenomandVenom: Let There Be Carnage, sharing screenplay duties with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg in the first one but later assuming said task on her own for the sequel. Regardless of the two movies receiving mixed reviews from critics, that hasn’t stopped this part of Sony’sSpider-ManUniverse from being incredibly successful with audiences, thus making Venom great for raking in profit, unlikeJared Leto’s Morbius, who can’t even catch a break as an internet meme.

Keeping that in mind, Sony probably has no reason to switch things up too much, which is whyVenom 3’s story will again be the workof Hardy and Marcel, with the latter penning the script by herself in what is being labelled by the actor as his “Last Dance” as Eddie Brock. Hardy shared the cover of the screenplay on his Instagram stories and later put up the same image on his main feed. Yet anyone expecting a title will have to wait since he covered it up with a cute little symbiote doodle, that is if there’s actually a working title at this stage of production.
As usual for the actor, comments on his Instagram posts are disabled, and this is as far as it goes fornew information onVenom 3. There isn’t any further confirmation on which cast members will be returning or whether Andy Serkis could return as director. While Hardy may be stepping away from the role, as suggested by his post, the rest of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe has a lot on its pipeline, fromKraven the HunterandMadame WebtoEl Muertostarring music icon Bad Bunny.
It remains a mystery whereVenom’s story could go after facing Carnage, especially since Cletus Kasady was killed in the sequel, but there’s still some hope for the symbiote to find his way back into the MCU once more after Spider-Man:No Way HomeundidLet There Be Carnage’s special post-credits scene. In any case, if movies fail to continue the character’s storyline, Venom has an important role inSpider-Man 2after being introduced in the game’s first teaser, andVenom’s also a villain inMarvel’s Midnight Suns.
