On September 26th, 2023, allCyberpunk 2077fans are going to be busy discovering the new Phantom Liberty expansion and the new and dangerous Dogtown district, where most of the action will take place. V will once more be in the wrong time at the wrong place, hoping to do the right thing, and it’s up to the players (and the developers) to see at how big of a price they will pay this time around.

WhileCyberpunk 2077has a lot of loyal fans already, CDPR ishoping to gain some new onesthat will give their game a chance to shine once more and for a new story to emit from the -admittedly- dark place that is Night City. As for the old fans, they can’t help but speculate what the new Phantom Liberty expansion will add to V and Johnny’s story.
7Alternate Ending
Cyberpunk 2077might have five different endings and one secret one, but fans arenot exactly okay with any of them, since it means choosing between a rock and a bad place. It’s normal for the players to want V to have more choice in her path after the game, which is not the case with any of the canon endings.
The trailer for Phantom Liberty Expansion though offered the gamers a possible escape from the doomed fate, since there is talk about a potential cure for V and her situation. Whether that will come to be realized or not, it remains to be seen, but it definitely fired up new hope to the fans.
6More Of Johhny And V’s Story
They might fight all the time, but Johnny’s and V’s arguments end up being like the ones someone would expect from siblings, so it’s normal to come to love both of them and want to see them survive and, why not, succeed in their crazy plans (at least the ones that don’t involve risking the lives of civilians).

With the new main mission and the expected side quests in the Phantom Liberty Expansion,fans expect to see V and Johnny’s storyevolve, change, and be as complicated and exciting as it is in the main game. It wouldn’t be enough for Johnny to be just the sidekick one-liner in this new adventure, and hopefully, he will be more involved, maybe even taking over V’s body at times.
5New Cyberware
It’s always an interesting feature when the character the gamers are playing with can get his armor, whatever that armor may be, upgraded. InCyberpunk 2077, V can get a lot of different updates, not only with clothes and weapons but also with cyberware that they can get from different ripperdocs.
Depending on the battle style the player wants, V can get some superbly helpful upgrades in the base game. Now, the Phantom Liberty Expansion is promising even more upgrades that can make V even stronger. One has to wonder though, how many upgrades are too many? Anddo they risk going cyberpsycho?
4New Friendships
With Idris Elbacoming to the game as Solomon Reed, an NUS Federal Intelligence Agency agent that’s going to be on the side of V, there is a lot of excitement about forging new friendships that can prove helpful, not only emotionally but in practical manners as well.

Apart from Reed though, there is Songbird, a netrunner who seems to know a lot, and, of course, President Myers, the President of the NUS, who is in need of V’s help. These three main characters in the new expansion are already firing up speculation among the fans as to a possible clash of interests and questions as to which side V is going to take.
3New Easter Eggs
The base game had a lot of funny, unexpected, andplain weird Easter Eggs, and the fans can’t help but wait for the same thing to happen in the Phantom Liberty Expansion. The theories have already started to circulate and thankfully, it’s not a long wait until the players get to see who was wrong, who was right, and what completely unique ways the developers are going to find to reward the over-explorers.
While a lot of gamers expect some kind of Easter Egg from the world of the Witcher games, CDPR is known to surprise its players, so the Easter Eggs can vary from secret locations to legendary weapons to just a poster on the wall “winking” at the players and full of hidden meaning.
2New Side Missions
While the idea of a new main mission in the beloved Night City sounds amazing - and even more amazing is the fact that it’s going to be in a whole new district - the need for somegood old side missionsis always there, in the hearts of the fans.

Whether it’s simple side quests like finding cyberpsychos or giving a helping hand to someone in distress, the Phantom Liberty expansion would be so much better if there are side missions that V and Johnny can explore together and get to make some choices.
1More Of Johnny’s Backstory
Along with V, the fans are curious to learn how the Night City was in the past, andhow Johnny saw and understood everythingthat was happening around him. In the base game, there is a lot of information given in this regard, either through conversations between V and Johnny or through missions.
In the expansion, players are already thirsty for more info, even if this comes in the simple form of a clever remark from Johnny about V not understanding something or how he used to do things when he was around. It is also worth wondering what the relationship between Johnny and the new characters will be and if they share any kind of common past.
