One of the most popular streamers onTwitch, Felix Lengyel, is better known by his online alias xQc. The Canadian content creator and former professionalOverwatchplayer has earned himself over nine million followers onTwitchsince his debut on the platform in 2014.
Now a full-time streamer, xQc is no stranger to controversy on Twitch. In his seven years on Amazon’s platform, he has managed to get himself in trouble with the streaming service multiple times for various reasons. Despite being banned for playing games with inappropriate content andstream sniping another competitor during aFall GuysTwitch Rivals competition, the prominent streamer still maintains high viewership numbers and has enjoyed a very lucrative career on Twitch.

When a recentTwitch leak revealed the platform’s biggest stars’ payouts, fans found out that xQc reportedly earned over eight million dollars from the site since August 2019. As such, his followers have begun wondering just how long the notorious streamer plans on continuing doing live broadcasts. When xQc appeared on the CouRage and Nadeshot Show podcast that aired on October 21st, he shed some light on his eventual exit from Twitch.
“I think [I’ll stream] until I don’t enjoy it anymore. My chat kinda gets weirded out when I say this, and some people don’t believe me either, I always tell them, if I feel this isn’t it anymore, I’ll quit so fast,” he then further elaborated, “It could be tomorrow, it could be in ten years.”
xQc then explained his reasoning for a possible abrupt Twitch exit, citing wanting to provide his viewers with an enthusiastic version of himself on the site, “If I don’t have the passion, how can I translate that passion to people? I don’t want to make them watch something that I don’t feel like doing. It’s almost like I’m scamming people.”
xQc’s thinking towards wanting to provide his viewer with the best version of himself is certainly sound. Rather than work himself into burnout and be forced into needing abreak like other Twitch stars like Pokimanerecently did, xQc would rather simply pull the plug when he’s no longer getting enjoyment from live broadcasting. His impressive Twitch earnings would unquestionably provide him with an easy exit, as well.
Of course, xQc isn’t the only popular Twitch streamer to be toying with the idea of walking away from the site.NBA 2KstreamerAdin Ross recently posted a video regarding quittingstreaming to his YouTube account in the aftermath of his laser eye surgery. Still, when a streamer as prominent as xQc talks about walking away, fans take notice. His Twitch followers may just have to enjoy the ride while it lasts.
