Developer Aggro Crab has released a new trailer for its latest game, the Soulslike action-adventure gameAnother Crab’s Treasure. Crabs may not draw an immediate connection to aSoulslikeaction game for many gamers, but that’s something Aggro Crab plans to correct withAnother Crab’s Treasure. To help punch home just what the hermit crab protagonist ofAnother Crab’s Treasurecan do, Aggro Crab’s new trailer features an extended look at one of the game’s boss fights.A Soulslike game isn’t just an action game. It’s about creating unique worlds to explore that are rich in detail and story. While Aggro Crab hasn’t shown a significant amount of its crab game yet, it has certainly introduced a unique and beautiful underwater world. Instead of a sword and shield, players will wield trash that they’ve gathered from the dying environment. Similarly, the crab’s enemies will also be well-equipped for this undersea society where only the strongest survive.RELATED:Another Crab’s Treasure is a New Soulslike Game Based on CrabsThe boss that Aggro Crab is now introducing is an excellent example of the world found inAnother Crab’s Treasure. It’s named the Polluted Platoon Pathfinder, and it’s a crab covered in both trash and barnacle. One claw is knotted in rope, the other holds a glass bottle, and upon its head is a scrap of a plastic trash bag. This may be the kind of creature the hermit crab has to become to survive inAnother Crab’s Treasure, a monstrous reflection of the dying land they inhabit and a properSoulslike boss.
Players are able to see how quick movement is inAnother Crab’s Treasure, moreSekirothanDark Souls. The hermit grab dashes in and out, attacking and dodging their opponent’s swinging glass bottle. There’s also some clever interaction in the fight. At one point, the hermit crab takes a hit that knocks off his aluminum can shell. In another example, the Polluted Platoon Pathfinder breaks his glass bottle, leaving it with a ragged sharp edge. Fear what happens when the rope is cut and its claw is unleashed.
In a hilarious follow-up from Aggro Crab, a second video shows what an easier version of the fight might look like. The hermit crab equips a gun as their shell before the fight, and then once it begins it kills its foe in a single shot. It’s probably safe to assume the gun won’t be available whenAnother Crab’s Treasurelaunches in 2023.
Another Crab’s Treasurewill be Aggro Crab’s second game. The first wasGoing Under, a dungeon crawler that was very well received when it launched in 2020. Aggro Crab is now publishing its second game on its own, and expectations are very high.Another Crab’s Treasurecertainly looks promising, so hopefully, the excitement for it remains at a boil until it arrives.
