Soul Hackers 2, much like other JRPGS, heavily depends on battling and beating major characters to move forward in the storyline. While saving the world as Ringo, a witty strong-minded humanoid AI, players team up with Demons and Demon Summoners against their enemies. Players can make key strategic moves outside of leveling up to strengthen their teams.

Demons are equipped with Skills and Effects and, like the party members, can level up as they win battles and earn EXP. Players can use these skills with MP, and as they level up, they gain stronger abilities. Depending on the type of Skills and their effects, it can give players significant advantages in battle. Because the main protagonist is traveling with 3 other characters, there is a possibility of 4 Demons equipped for the team, so having a good mix of abilities is possible with the proper planning. Here are team-building tips forSoul Hackers 2.

Soul Hackers 2 Weak Attack Badge

Skills are categorized by affinity. Affinities are the type of power or source behind a Skill, and some Demon species are more likely to have certain affinities than others. The different affinities and definitions are listed below:

Weak and Resistant Skills

Demon species are weak or resistant to specific Skills. This is typically due to the type of species; for example, certain species are more prone to use fire affinities, so they are weak to Ice Skills and take more damage from them. This is important to know when equipping Demons to the party members because the team takes on those same weaknesses and resistance.

Many species of Demons attack players when exploring dungeons, so keeping a well-rounded team will make these encounters easier. If players use an attack that their opponent is weak to, it creates a Stack. Once 4 Stacks occur, then a Sabbath is triggered. Sabbaths are powerful group attacks that hit all targets on the field.

Soul Hackers 2 Healing Skill

Passive Affinities

Passive affinities are Skills that don’t give out damage and only affect the Demon who uses them. Instead, they add perks such as a more MP or make certain Skill affinities that would usually damage the user to Null. These can be the difference between a KO and a win in certain battles.

Have Dedicated Support Roles

Some Demons excel in healing, status, and restorative moves. Keeping at least one support Demon on the team will keep players on the field longer or give them advantages. Fairies, in particular, have strong support Skills. Certain Skills have natural healing abilities for one or more party members or temporarily up their team’s defensive and offensive stats. So, if a party member gets KO’d or hit with a status condition, then the support role can use their turns to use an Expendable Item to heal them. There are also Skills that will change what affinities players are weak or resistant to.

Equip Summoner Mistiques

Summoner Mistiques go hand in hand with Demon Skills. They can be Augments, Boost, or Arcanas. They are classified by rank, and COMP upgrades are needed for the higher ranking Mistiques. Mistiques are titled based on the affinities they enhance, i.e., Ruin Augment I, I, Ruin Augment II, and Ruin Augment III. Players can obtain Mistiques by leveling up their Demons. Once Demons learn the maximum available Skills, they will gift a Mistique to show their appreciation and cement their bond with Ringo. Players can coordinate their party members equipped Demons and Skills with their Mistique to give themselves a power boost. However, some Mistiques are incompatible with particular party members, so not just any pairing works. Experiment with match-ups to maximize team strategy.
