Sekiro: Shadows Die Twiceis filled with a variety of enemies for players to fight, some that are challenging because of their speed and some that are challenging because of their damage output. The Blazing Bull mini boss inSekirois challenging because it is both and here is the best way to beat it.

Where to Find the Blazing Bull Mini Boss

Sekiroplayers will first encounter the Blazing Bull in the Ashina Castle Gate area of the game’s world. As they are making their way towards Ashina castle, they will sneak up on two human enemies that are behind some fencing. Get a little closer and the Blazing Bull will burst out from behind them, kill them, and then head toward the player.

The Blazing Bull inSekirohas a bunch of straw tied to its horns (or are its horns just straw) that are set on fire. It will charge at the player in true, bull form and the player can simply dodge out of the way. Other times, though, the Blazing Bull will make quick turns, which are harder to dodge. And, of course, there is the matter of doing damage.

If players are going throughSekiroat a regular pace they will likely encounter the Blazing Bull early on. The good news is that the mini boss is after one of the game’s first boss fights, so players will have at leastone attack power upgrade for increased damage. So, it is possible to face the Blazing Bull, dodge its attacks, get in close to do damage, and defeat it. However, there is also a trick to make getting in attacks a little easier.

How to Get the Shinobi Firecrackers

If players buy Robert’s Firecrackers for 500coins/sen (Sekiro’smoney)from any of the vendors inSekiro, they can then acquire theShinobi Firecracker prosthetic tool. There is a vendor up the stairs from the big battlefield where you fought Gyoubu Oniwa. As the tool tip explains, the Shinobi Firecrackers can be used to spook animals like the Blazing Bull. When the firecrackers are thrown on the ground, most animals will rear back and take a moment to collect themselves.

With the Shinobi Firecrackers,Sekiroplayers will be able to “stun” the Blazing Bull and get in close for some damage. After using the firecrackers it will take some time before the effect will work again, so avoid the Blazing Bull for a bit and then strike again.

Don’t worry about the Blazing Bull’sposture meter or health like the Shinobi Hunter. At about the halfway health mark, the Blazing Bull will start bucking around and then fall to the ground, leaving it vulnerable for a deathblow attack. The Blazing Bull is still tough to beat but the firecrackers will help a lot. And if you happen to be having trouble with the Gyoubu Oniwa boss fight (the general riding around on his horse) before the Blazing Bull encounter, the firecrackers help there too.
