Second Extinctionis a first-person shooter game (FPS) that has garnered attention from many players for its fun combat and interesting plot line.Dinosaurs have come back to Earth again,and it is up to the player to grab their gun and shoot them all down where they stand, thus giving these mutant dinosaurs a second extinction.
There are multiple weapons in the game that a player has at their disposal. Of course, though, that means some weapons are bound to be better than the others. As in any FPS, it’s good for a player to know which weapons are considered the best of the best, and aim to get as soon as possible. Here are the best choices available as they hunt dinosaurs.
7Revolver
The Revolver is a gun that is perfectly fine by itself. While it is not the best weapon in the entire game, it holds up pretty well. Its damage is decent, which makes it effective as an enemy killer.

However, what really makes the Revolver shine is the fact that players can get a perk thatmeshes very well with an already strong gun: theMinigun perk. With this perk, if a player kills an enemy with a critical shot in the Revolver, they will automatically reload their primary gun. This helps to overcome the Revolver’s weaknesses.
6Shotgun
The main reason people like the Shotgun so much is that having a strong weapon is essential in dinosaur killing games.The Shotgun, of course, does the job quite well.
It is not the most overpowered gun that a player can use, but it really gets results. The damage is high, and can easily blast enemies in one shot if a player’s aim is good enough. The only problem is that a player will have to get really close to the beasts if they want a good shot.
5Minigun
Many players have turned to the Minigun when it comes to having a weapon that can mow down enemies in relatively few shots. It is not a weapon a player can use to instantly win, though. There are a few downsides that a player will have to work around.

Some players have complained that the Minigun takes awhile to reload. In a game with real-time combat,taking too long to reload can be deadly. Luckily, though, the Revolver can make this a nonissue. All a player has to do is make the Minigun their primary weapon and start killing with the Revolver.
4Machine Gun
Players will greatly enjoy the Machine Gun for a multitude of reasons.Many players have turned to the Machine Gunfor the high number of bullets a player can spray at their enemies with this weapon.
While the Machine Gun can’t do everything at once, it is still a very respectable gun for a player to use. What’s more, it only improves with each upgrade, as well, which makes it a safe choice to use in the game.
3Grenade Launcher
For the player who wants to be a chaotic force of nature that bursts down their enemies with one shot, the Grenade Launcher is one to look for. The problem is that a player will need specific perks to make the Grenade Launcher the best weapon it can be.

Without perks, the Grenade Launcher is slow and rather ineffective. However, with the right perks (such as a perk that will instantly reloadwhen a player takes damage), the Grenade Launcher will be a player’s one-stop shop for pure destruction.
2Homing Shot Machine Gun
Similarly to the Machine Gun, a player will love to use the Homing Shot Machine Gun — the reason why is exactly in its name. Itis always beneficial for a player to havea weapon with shots that home in on their target, as precise aim becomes less important as it would with other weapons.
The Homing Shot Machine Gun does pretty decent damage against enemies, but the homing shots are really what make it so strong. The shots will almost always go directly towards their target, and the high damage will almost always kill enemies.
1Dragonsbreath Shotgun
Almost every player agrees that the Dragonsbreath Shotgun is the best weapon to use inSecond Extinction. In fact, some players wonder if it is even fair to use this weapon, due to its strength.
The Dragonsbreath Shotgun has very high damage per second, and does not really need perks in order to unlock its full potential. Of course, a player should always remember to get perks for their weapons, as it never hurts to have an extra boost. But even at its most basic form, the Dragonsbreath Shotguncan easily take down larger dinosaurs in a few shots. This is largely to the fact that its damage can actually stack, since it is based on fire.
