Rockstar has released a statement assuring players that it’s looking into a glitch inGrand Theft Auto Onlinethat has put players' vehicles at risk of being permanently lost from their inventories. The glitch is related to the insurance policies for the vehicles, and it started to be reported after theSan Andreas Mercenaries update was implemented.InGrand Theft Auto Onlineplayers can purchase vehicles from Los Santos Customs. However, one of the most important transactions in the game is adding an insurance policy for the purchased vehicles. This insurance allows players to recover their vehicles should they be destroyed for any reason. It didn’t take long for the high-value car enthusiasts to begin reporting to Rockstar that they have been losing their valuable vehicles, with some of the estimated values going up to 8 million in-game dollars. To put things into perspective, a 10 million Shark Card would cost $99.99 in real-world currency. Althoughcash inGrand Theft Auto Onlinecan still be made in different ways, it still is a very substantial loss. Fortunately, Rockstar has begun to look into the issue.
The company stated that it’s aware of the issues regarding insurance inGrand Theft Auto Onlineand that it is working on a way to resolve the issue. In the meantime, it’s been reported by various players that their vehicle purchases have been refunded after submitting support tickets. Unfortunately, this might end up backfiring for some players who might have permanently lost vehicles from this glitch that just so happened to also be part of the list ofvehicles that were delisted fromGrand Theft Auto Online’s storesafter the latest update.
While Rockstar looks for a solution to this problem, it might be best to put thosehighly valuable vehicles like the Dubstaaway for the time being.Grand Theft Auto Onlineplayers have also reported that vehicles stored in the Mobile Operations Center would disappear, but Rockstar quickly released a solution for the issue in a background update. As such, players might see an equally prompt solution to the insurance glitch.
