A Rockstar Games game called “Bonaire” has been banned in Australia but no one knows what it is. The mysterious title has left fans scratching their heads as Rockstar hasn’t officially announced that it is working on a game after the highlysuccessful release of cowboy epicRed Dead Redemption 2in October 2018.

Australia has just refreshed its list of banned games that are prohibited from releasing in the country and as well as games like medieval RPG andnew Game Pass titleKingdom Come: Deliverance, Rockstar’sBonairehas been slapped with a ban too.Bonairehas been hit with an “RC” rating by the Australian games ratings board which means refused classification.

The classification listing doesn’t explain whatBonaireis or what it may have been banned for. However, Australia just handed out aban to DayZ for drug usewhich isn’t in the game yet. So,Bonairecould have been banned for anything from drug use, to excessive violence or something that the ratings board just happened to find by poking around in the game’s files.

Rockstar has also stayed quiet on the issue, but the company’s silence is only making fans speculate harder. One popular suggestion is thatBonaireis the name of aRed Dead Redemption 2expansion. Bonaire is the name of a Caribbean island andRed Dead Redemption 2’s story did take players to Guarma, a tropical island off the coast of Cuba, so the two could be connected. It’s the only theory that makes any sense as although many would like to seeRockstar GamesannounceBully 2or reviveAgent, neither of these titles are officially connected to the Caribbean.

If Rockstar is going to announceBonaireas aRed Dead Redemption 2expansion or newRed Dead Onlineupdate, then that reveal could be happening very soon. Kotaku Australia was unable to find applications forBonairewhen looking at the Taiwanese, European, or South Korean games rating agencies and Rockstar would have to go through these before making a reveal. However, the Rockstar North office has justtorn down the hugeRed Dead Redemption 2posterthat has been on the side of the building for quite some time. The studio may be waiting to replace it with official art ofRed Dead Redemption 2Bonaireas soon as the company has officially revealed it.
