SincePlayerUnknown’s Battlegroundslaunched in early access on Xbox One last year, the game has lagged behind its PC counterpart. However, the Xbox One version ofPlayerUnknown’s Battlegroundswill soon become much closer to what the PC version has to offer when it has its proper 1.0 launch on September 4.

Xbox’s Major Nelson announcedPUBG’s Xbox One release date at Gamescom 2018 in a video that featured interviews with various members of the development team in South Korea. These interviews revealed that the September 4 1.0 release date will be marked by significant stability improvements, along with some brand new features.

Perhaps the biggest news is that theSanhok jungle mapwill finally be coming to the Xbox One version ofPlayerUnknown’s Battlegroundson September 4 as part of the 1.0 update. For the uninitiated, the Sanhok map is a much smaller map than Erangel and Miramar, and lends itself to faster, more frantic matches. Whereas Miramar has been met with a mixed reception from the community, Sanhok seems to have been better received, so its addition to Xbox One is exciting news.

The 1.0 release forPUBGon Xbox One will also see the addition of new game modes, includingWar Mode. War Mode blends typicalPUBGbattle royale gameplay with more traditional team deathmatch-style gameplay, removing permadeath and allowing players to respawn in the middle of a match.

War Mode will be joined by custom matches, which has been one of the most highly anticipated features for the Xbox One version of the game. Custom matches allow players to tailor thePUBGexperience to their tastes, with one of the more popular custom games adding “zombie” players.

Along with custom matches, War Mode, Sanhok, and stability improvements, the 1.0 release ofPlayerUnknown’s Battlegroundson Xbox One will also have achievements. Fans can look forward to all of this content once the 1.0 update becomes available on September 4.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegroundsis available now for Android, iOS, and PC, and will launch for Xbox One on September 4.
