Pokemon GOhas already had some exciting crossovers with other franchise game’s, including events to help celebratethe launch ofPokemon Sword and Shieldand interactions withPokemon Let’s GO. Now, for the first time, the game is crossing over withPokemon TCGfor a meaningful way with the collectible card game’s plans to debut Professor Willow on a card next month.
In July 2021,Professor Willow’s iconic artwith be featured on a pretty powerful new TCG card called Professor’s Research. The card could be an exciting addition to somePokemon TCGdecks, but it actually is going to have an interesting use forPokemon GOtrainers, as well. A new Special Research storyline is coming to the mobile AR experience and the only way to gain access to it will be with a promo code that is printed on the Professor’s Research card.

The new Professor’s Research card is coming to the TCG this July, which means players will soon be able to get their hands on it and find those promo codes. Fans of thePokemon TCGare well aware thatproduct shortages are a major issue right nowand the actually suffers from a pretty serious resale market problem. It can be very difficult to find new products in stores before they are all quickly purchased and tons of lots begin appearing online with increased prices. Hopefully this won’t make obtaining the Professor’s Research card too much of an issue forPoGOtrainers.

Complete the new Special Research to encounter the Mythical Pokémon Meltan and earn items that can be useful on your journey!

An exact release date for the new card hasn’t been revealed yet, but with just a few weeks left in June more details should be arriving quickly. Trainers should be sure to keep an eye out for more information and learn which packs or products they’ll need to buy for a chance to open the Professor’s Research card.
