The company has deliveredhigh-octane shooter actionwith many of their titles, and this looks to be no exception. Their focus is on finally creating the perfect fusion of RPG and shooter, a high many developers have been chasing for years.
InOutriders’favor, its aesthetic is solid and its gameplay looks amazing. Sprinkle on a little brutality, and what is created is something that looks like a must-buy.

9Hoping For: Final Fantasy XVI
Square-Enix has already shown ofProject Athia,a game from the development team behindFinal Fantasy XV. However, fans of Square are still holding onto hope that, eventually, concrete details of the nextFinal Fantasywill surface.
The only things fans can hold onto are aseries of rumors, and rumors are hardly something to be comfortable about. It would be great if Square-Enix would cut through the rumors and deliver the goods. Even if Naoki Yoshida isn’t the game’s director, it should still be something incredible.

8Confirmed: JETT: The Far Shore
Space exploration games are often hit-and-miss. Sometimes, in the case ofNo Man’s Sky, the game is both a miss and a hit.JETT: The Far Shore, a cinematic action adventure game from Superbrothers and Pine Scented Software, looks to be a big hit. The trailer was vague and mysterious, but it’s clear that there’s an ambitious, darkopen-worldthe creators are crafting.
Will this game deliver on the promises it makes? Considering their track record, it’s a safe bet to think so.JETT: The Far Shorewill certainly be a thrilling exploration game to pick up on launch with the PS5.

7Hoping For: Ni No Kuni 3
There aren’t many modern JRPG franchises that have made quite the splash thatNi No Kunimanaged to. While the first game may have ridden off the back of Studio Ghibli’s involvement, its sequel was a game that improved nearly everything. However, the sequel wasn’t graphically impressive compared to other titles.

If the developers can make use of the advancements of the PS5, a new title could be something even greater. There can never be enough incredible JRPG’s, and if fans aren’t going to getFinal Fantasy, this would be a good alternative.
6Confirmed: Deathloop
Deathloopis Arkane Lyon’s latest title, a first-person shooter that’s vaguely similar toSUPERHOTorHotline Miamiin terms of the gameplay loop. The art-style is wonderfully wacky and the gameplay looks incredibly fast and fun. It’s everything people enjoyed about Arkane’s previous titles and more.
The fact the game is releasing on launch for the PS5 is a huge win for early adopters. If this game is anywhere near as replayable as it looks, it’ll hold over any buyers until the next big release.Deathloopis looking like an incredible game; all eyes should be on it.

5Hoping For: Starfield
Starfield, Bethesda’s next major title that they teased back at E3 2018, is coming. It’s eventually going to be shown and released. However, it would be great if fans could see some details on the game sooner rather than later.Hardly anything is knownabout the game.
Bethesda needs a big win after previous debacles surroundingFallout 76, andStarfieldcould be just that. Besides, who doesn’t want to see Todd Howard giving a sales pitch? The man has a maxed out charm stat, his ability to make a sale is greater than anyone else. In fact, why not just make a Todd Howard game for PS5? That would be the best of both worlds.

4Confirmed: Spider-Man: Miles Morales
The biggest title Sony is delivering on launch is obviouslySpider-Man: Miles Morales. The game is a standalone title in the same vein ofUncharted: The Lost Legacy, focused on the ever-popular Miles Morales. His inclusion in the PS4 title led many to believe he would be getting his own game, so confirmation was sweet.
It’ll be great to revisit the world Insomniac created through a fresh perspective. And there are so manyincredible villainsthat people are hoping to see take on the iconic hero. A lot is riding on the success ofMiles Morales, and it wouldn’t be an understatement to say that it almost certainly will deliver on the hype.

3Hoping For: Bloodborne (Again)

So please, find a way to bringBloodborneback afterDemon’s Souls.
No PS5 reveal was as bizarre asBugsnax. This title fromYoung Horsesis equal parts cryptic and cute. The site details that this game is going to allow players to collect Bugsnax and hunt for them. It’s kind of like acreature collectorin that way. However, considering the tone of the trailer and the somewhat horrific way that poor strawberry gets devoured, there has to be something sinister underneath the surface.

No trailer this cute and whimsical happens without a twist somewhere. Maybe the twist is there is no twist. Either way,Bugsnaxis going to be the most important title releasing in the PS5 launch window. Any player should buy this game to discover what secrets it holds.
1Hoping For: Sly Cooper
Any gamer who grew up with thePlayStation 2likely has fond memories ofSly Cooper. The trilogy is a classic series, each game providing a different experience than the last. The series laid dormant while Sucker Punch moved onto the equally incrediblyInfamous, only to be revived by Sanzaru Games.Thieves in Timewas… not exactly a return to form for the series.
However, that doesn’t mean the series should stay dead. There’s still a ton of potential for the franchise, and in the hands of a more competent developer, it could be a huge win for Sony. With Microsoft raising the bar as they have been, Sony needs to step it up as well. BringingSly Cooperback is the best way to do that.
