It won’t be too much longer before players eagerly anticipatingMortal Kombat 11will finally be able to get their hands on the full version of the game. Nevertheless, there are some players who have been selected by NetherRealm Studios to try it early by taking part in the title’s Online Stress Test this weekend, which begins today and ends on March 17. Apparently, the only roster members available in the Stress Test are Baraka, Scorpion, andSkarlet. Next week’s Kombat Kast live stream will possibly provide a breakdown on how the Stress Test went, and could potentially reveal Kotal Kahn gameplay, too.

A few days ago, the official Twitter account forMortal Kombat 11shared a brief teaser snippet of a character with bluish-green skin in sandals dragging a gigantic sword behind them, withNetherRealm Studiosstating that we’d see them in action during the game’s Kombat Kast next week. While it has yet to be confirmed that the fighter in question is Kotal Kahn, severalMK11fans managed to nab screenshots of a brief frame showing a full body render of what appears to be the current Emperor of Outworld.

In addition to the screen captures, one player simply expressed their excitement for Kotal Kahn’s potential addition as a playable character, which led to theMortal Kombat 11social media account responding with a playful emoji hinting the character’s on his way. Should Kotal Kahn actually be next in line for a full unveiling, then thefull roster leakfrom a couple of weeks ago would look to be even more accurate.

While someMortal Kombatfans may be eager to see the return of Kotal Kahn, others might not be as enthused at the prospect of there being yet another roster member fromMKXadded to the next sequel. After all, the game’s creative director Ed Boon stated that fans should expect moreclassic fightersfor the cast list, which created the expectation in some thatMK11would eschew the inclusion ofMKXmembers to make room for more fan-favorites of yore. So, if Kotal Kahn arrives on the scene as a fighter, then that would make for five playable characters fromMKX, which would account for about one-fourth of the base roster thus far.

Bearing everything here in mind, while it appears as if Kotal Kahn will be featured as the next character forMortal Kombat 11to get gameplay during a Kombat Kast, we will simply have to wait and see if that is indeed the case. Should some fans not be fully satisfied if Kotal Kahn takes up a spot on the base roster, there’s always the chance for another reveal to sate their hunger for a certain playable character of their liking to make the cut. After all, there’s always DLC characters to look forward to should one go all-in on theKombat Pass.

Mortal Kombat 11is scheduled to release on July 22, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
