On the official social media channels ofMonster Hunter Rise, Capcom shared a short video tour ofSunbreak’s new area The Citadel. Previously, the key locale has only been teased as the home ofSunbreak’s flagship elder dragon Malzeno. The footage highlighted the area’s iconic landmark called the Castle Ruins. Players will likely recall this is the main setting for the fight with the Malzeno whenSunbreakwas first announced. According to the video, hunters will see how nature has taken over the locale and how the new monsters contribute to the eerie atmosphere of The Citadel.
Capcom also shared that The Citadel will have its own distinct ecology. This includes newsmall monsters inMonster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. What’s more, the key locale will play host to a variety of biomes such as frozen lands and poisonous swamps that hunters will have to traverse through. Given that the series is known for placing monsters in environments that fit their biology, these new biomes will likely play a huge factor in the additional monsters the development team will add toSunbreak.
