Just looking at the cover ofMetal Geargames does them no justice. They are certainly not your average military story. The games are famous for how bizarre and unusual they can be. The plot is basically that you are fighting the military industrial complex Illuminati. You fight the craziest bosses from a man who can control bees to a vampire. The fights are only rivaled by insane scenes, like the president of the United States grabbing the protagonists' crotch to random egg cooking close-ups.

10Dressing Up Their Edgiest Character In A Sombrero
Calling Raiden the “edgiest” character is a little generous. While he is basically a one-man army (after the events of the 2nd game) and has a lot of angst, he sometimes has the most funny and out-there scenes.
One such scene is inMetal Gear Rising: Revengence. Unlike most of the franchise, this game was hack-and-slash instead of sneaking around. The scene is Raiden coming to Mexico. He has a disguise to blend in, and its a poncho with a sombrero. Not only would this get more rather than less attention, but none of it hides the fact that he is a cyborg with a sword!
9Killing A Boss By Just Waiting
Metal Gear 3: Snake Eatermight be the game with the most crazy moments, or at least the one with the most memorablebosses. One boss, The End, was a sniping professional. Fighting him can be hard and frustrating, as he uses tranquilizers and will drag you back to where you came from instead of killing you.

However, if you skip your clock for enough time . . . The End will die on his own. That’s right, if you wait long enough, he will die of old age.
Psycho Mantis is one of the most famousMetal Gearbosses, and he would actually read your memory card save data. Talk about breaking the fourth wall! Breaking the fourth wall was his way of showing off his psychic abilities, and it is a very creative way to do so. Games he would mention would includeAzure Dreams,Suikoden,Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, andVandal Hearts.
7Naked Raiden
One of the weirdest times inMetal Gear Solid 2is when Raiden is naked. The game does a great job of never seeing his crotch and it is hilarious to watch this man run around in a military facility with his hands covering himself in embarrassment.
Not only is he naked, but everything else gets weird too. Everyone you can call on suddenly acts very strange. It is like reality itself is peeling away during this vulnerable time.
6The Ladder Scene From Snake Eater
This ladder climb fromMetal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eateris three minutes long. That is actually a very long time once you experience it in the game. It is not just a quiet three minutes either. Eventually, the intro music starts playing with its James Bond-like thrill.

It is certainly odd, but players fell in love with this scene. We still don’t know whether it is a joke or a deep reflective moment in the game.
5Ocelot Making Ocelot Noises
Ocelot inSnake Eaterwas a fun character. He wanted Snakes attention, no matter what. Your first meeting with him is a little strange though. First, he shows off how well he can spin his guns. Then, when he realizes he can’t take Snake on his own, he meows.
That’s right, meows. He does a loud meow and that is the signal for other soldiers to come out and help him.
4Fatman’s Battle On Roller-Skates
While this character is named after one of the most serious subjects, the bombing of Nagasaki in World War II, his boss battle is quite funny. You need to shoot at him while he flies around in roller-skates. While it can be hard to take seriously, it does work in terms of making him harder to hit.
3Getting Shot By Bees
If The End and Ocelot didn’t weird you out, then maybe this guy did inSnake Eater. He controlled bees and was called The Pain. During his boss battle, he shoots bees at you as though they are bullets. How is he able to do all this? Apparently it’s due to a parasite infection that causes him to secrete pheromones.
2Egg Cooking Scenes
InSons of the Patriots,Sunny cooks a lot of eggs and we get to witness it all. This is because they are also a method of fortune-telling for Sunny. If the eggs turn out well, the mission will be a success. Simple as that.

Along with watching the eggs, players got to hear Sunny sing. If you listen closely, then you might realize she is singing the numbers of Pi at one point and the numbers of the Fibonacci Sequence at another point.
1Awkward Codec Calls From Bathrooms
Codec calls are a lot of fun, as they show the personalities of the characters and can give the player a lot of tips. If you call from inside a bathroom though, it can get a little weird. Characters will get embarrassed or angry if you call them while near a toilet.
