Now, a new trailer forThe Dark Pictures: The Devil in Mewas revealed showcasing several new characters in an unknown location. The trailer is narrated by a psychotic killer who will presumably serve as the antagonist of the next installment. Brief glimpses of new characters were also shown, but it’s unsure whether or not these characters are ones the player will control inThe Devil in Meor ones that were killed by the narrator. At the end of the trailer, it was also revealed thatThe Devil in Mewill be the final installment in Season 1 ofThe Dark Pictures Anthology.
Although not confirmed, it makes sense that Season 2 will contain the last four games inThe Dark Pictures Anthology, but it is unsure how long fans will have to wait between Season 1 and Season 2. The idea of having different seasons could potentially be used to give Supermassive Games more time to develop future horror games. As of now, it has been releasing a new installment inThe Dark Pictures Anthologyeach year, so by havingThe Devil in Mebe the final game in Season 1, this could give room for Supermassive Games to work on a different project.
From what was shown so far in the trailer forThe Devil in Me, it looks to be quite different thanpreviousDark Picturesgames. Instead of focusing on a particular monster or some other psychological horror,The Devil in Melooks like it will pit players against an experienced psychotic killer.
Although bothMan of MedanandLittle Hopereceived mixed reception, many were pleased withHouse of Ashesand the improvements it made in the horror series. IfThe Devil in Mecan further improve onHouse of Ashes, it will certainly be a strong horror title to look out for, presumably next year.
