343 Industries reveals the details for the sixth DLC pack known as Memories of Reach coming later this month forHalo 5: Guardiansincluding new gear last seen inHalo: Reach.
Since launching in October of last year,Halo 5: Guardianshas received a steady stream of content and free updates to keep the experience feeling fresh for online players. Unlike most downloadable content packs however, each update to the game has been free – thanks to thesizable profitthat the microtransactions have brought in since launch. Coming later this month, the sixth major content update is set to add a number of new features to the shooter including some familiar faces to multiplayer.
Arguably the biggest piece to this latest content pack is the news that players will finally be able to unlock armor sets inspired by each of the main characters last seen inHalo: Reach. The Noble Team inspired requisitions come in five flavors: Indomitable (Jorge), Wrath (Emile), Vigilant (Jun), and Intruder (Kat). It’s also worth mentioning that the final Noble member, Carter, has had his armor available since launch.
In addition to theReachthemed requisitions, players are finally getting access to one of the mostrequested multiplayer modes, Infection. The popular mode is currently in play testing and getting final tweaks before launching later this month. The new arena, Stasis, is joining the playlist along with some new gear, weapons, and skins as well. No specific release date has yet been given for this substantial content, but it is expected sometime this month. A livestream is planned for next week to show of most of this content, and presumably a release date as well.
While developer, 343 Industries remains mum on what’s in the immediate future forHalo 5, many fans are looking forward to finally gettingtheir hands on Warzone Firefight, which is scheduled for release sometime in the summer. The mode just recently wrapped up a successful beta test and now players wait for official word as to when it’ll be available to the public.
Halo 5: Guardiansis also getting a number ofbalance changes to the campaign, after the studio accumulated and went through months of data from the community. Out of the many balance changes coming, a greater focus has been put on solving the difficulty spike during fights with an enemy known as The Warden. In response to player feedback, 343 has made his attacks easier to dodge, weakened his front facing armor, and also made his weapons less accurate.
