There’s no doubt thatFortniteBattle Royale has become something of a phenomenon since its launch in early access last year, especially when one considers the fact thatGood Morning Americarecently ran a segmenton the popular multiplayer sandbox survival title. With the game’s player base having become so large, though, it’s an unfortunate truth to state that there are going to be bad apples in the bunch, as some have been exploiting Battle Royale’s Solo mode by teaming up against individuals. Now, it looks as if Epic Games plans to ban these offenders.

This much has been intimated in an exchange between PCGamesN and Epic Games, with a spokesperson from the company behindFortniteresponding to a request for comment about the issue, saying that “players having fair, fun games is a top priority for us.” Additionally, the studio stated that “teaming in Solo is against the rules and will result in Epic Games taking action on accounts that participate in that behavior,” and that it will “continue to monitor games for players who break rules and play unfairly in all game modes.”

Fortnite Battle Royale Impulse Grenade kill

In regards toa recent videoposted onFortniteBattle Royale’s official subreddit by the user known as “empacher-” in which a team of five rushes an individual and inevitably defeats the lone player, Epic Games has said that it has already taken action against those involved in that particular instance who broke the game’s rules. While the studio has declared its intentions to keep looking into such situations, it also urges fans to help out by reporting players usingthis online form.

Taking all of this into consideration, withFortniteBattle Royale having become such an out of left field success, it’s great to see Epic Games doing its best to maintain a fun and healthy gameplay atmosphere in order to retain its current player base and assist in its continual growth. After all, with the company havinghad to end support forParagonin favor of servicing the unexpected popularity ofFortnite, it would be a shame for the multiplayer sandbox survival title to dwindle in user numbers due to unchecked cheaters.

Fortniteis available now in early access for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
