Square Enix announces at theFinal Fantasy 15Uncovered presentation that a new demo is available tonight calledFinal Fantasy 15 Platinum Demo, and it is entirely free.
In what could only be described as one of the most exciting events of the gaming year thus far, Square Enix continuously shocked the world with announcement after announcement regarding the long-awaitedFinal Fantasy XVgame. While some news was leaked ahead of time, there were some bombshell reveals that were not, and one of the biggest pieces of news emerging from theFinal Fantasy XVUncovered presentation is the existence of another demo along the same lines ofFinal Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae.
Unlike the previousFinal Fantasy XVdemo,however, fans won’t have to purchase or pre-order anything to gain access to theFinal Fantasy XV Platinum Demo. The newly unveiledFinal Fantasy XV Platinum Demowill be available for free, and Square Enix announced that it will be available on both the PS4 and Xbox One tonight.
While not much is known about the demo outside of what was shown during the presentation, the information that has already been revealed seems to indicate a demo that offers much more variety thanDuscaepreviously did. According to the presenters,Platinum Demowill function like a mixture between a tech and a gameplay demo. It will take turns equally showing off some of the game’s graphical prowess in the form of different kinds of weather and environmental setting or the game’s combat, which will include ahands-on demo of the magic system inFinal Fantasy XVfor the first time.
Unfortunately for the presentation, the biggest announcement regardingFinal Fantasy XVwasn’t kept a secret until the finale. News leaked earlier today thatFinal Fantasy XVwould release on September 30, 2016after a mysterious trailer was uploaded detailing a young Noctis exploring his own dream world. As it turns out, that trailer was forFinal Fantasy XV Platinum Demo, which will let gamers take on the role of young Noctis as he explores both his dreams and nightmares.
It has been a big day forFinal FantasyXV, and if there wasn’t a lot of industry buzz surrounding it before (there was), there certainly is now (even moreso). Gamers eager to get their hands on the title will have to wait a few more months, butPlatinum Demowill make for a nice taste of what’s to come for aFinal Fantasy XVgame that is ambitious in both its scopeand in the innovations it brings to the franchise.
