Following the recent release ofFar Cry 5’steaser trailerdepicting the game’s rural Montana setting in the fictional area of Hope County, Ubisoft has now released the forthcoming title’s cover art to reveal some of the characters. Of course, as one should expect from the key artwork for the next entry in the first-person shooter franchise, it highlights what are presumably the sequel’s villains posing in a sinister send-up of Leonardo da Vinci’s paintingThe Last Supper.
Fans can get a better look atFar Cry 5’s cover art in full below, as it not only features the game’s bad guys, but also one can see that the background is lousy with mountain ranges, shows a building on fire, and portrays a couple of planes, the latter of which could indicate the option to commandeer and fly aeronautical vessels. In the foreground sits a beaten and bound man with the word “sinner” scrawled across his back, plenty of weapons and ammunition, as well as an alternate version of the American flag with crosses instead of stars.
Beyond the reveal ofFar Cry 5’s key artwork, Ubisoft provided no additional details in the way of describing the title. That said, though, when one takes into account the visuals seen on the cover above, a recentleak about the game’s story and settingthat was posted on Reddit prior to today’s cover art reveal looks to be almost spot-on as far as the plot is concerned.
As it so happens, the original poster of theFar Cry 5leak stated that the game will focus on a “religious cult” made up of “Doomsday-preppers bent on furthering their cause.” Modern-day weapons and vehicles were also confirmed, and the aforementioned cultists were described as having the ability to use the “hilly, mountainous” Montana backdrop to their advantage.
Thankfully,Far Cry 5fans won’t have to wait too much longer to learn additional information about the game, as Ubisoft has declared that its first full-length trailer will drop this Friday, June 16, 2025. Beyond the release of the next piece of footage for the shooter, it’s also likely that the publisher and developer plans to share even more details aboutFar Cry 5atits E3 2017 press conferencenext month.
Far Cry 5is currently in production, but has yet to receive an official release date and there have been no platforms announced.
