Dreamsis a game development softwarecreated by Media Molecule. It was published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 4 and later the PlayStation 5. Similar toRoblox, players are able to create their own content through a robust suite of tools. These can range from assets, models, music, art, to fully-fledged games. These assets can then be shared and imported into other users' creations or games. Thus, entire worlds can be crafted by a talented team of developers and easily shared among all those that have theDreamssoftware.
Dreams Centralis set to be a completely free-to-play game. The developer promises there will be absolutely no microtransactions, premium currencies, or subscription models. If successful, it could serve as a spiritual successor toPlayStation Home.It aspires to be a social space despiteDreamsnot having online multiplayer functionality at this time. Until then, it will offer a single-player and local multiplayer social space and game center. The team developingDreams Centralpromises there will be plenty to do for anyone interested in visiting the resort.
Features
There is a lot of content planned for the initial release should it see funding. But, the team has even more plans going forward. In the Kickstarter post, the development team details plans for their very own in-game theme park, Paradise Park. It will host attractions, minigames, and a variety of rides. It’s ambitious but promises to have a lot of content for players to enjoy in addition to the already packed base game.
As for the Kickstarter, there are plenty of perks for backing the game including access to a digital artbook, soundtrack, special living quarters, and even being able to design their own customer minigame. The deadline for pledging is 10 am CST on June 19, 2025. There’s still a long way to go, but should the right crowd find it, they would potentially have a new place to call home.
