WithDisney Dreamlight Valleybeing in Early Access, it was only a matter of time beforemore content was added into the game. In fact, Gameloft already announced a roadmap for Fall of 2022. The first update goes live on October 19th while the second update will be later on in the fall.

The first update will add Scar into the game along with continuing the main storyline ofDisney Dreamlight Valley. For players interested in jumping in when the new content goes live, here is a guide for when the update will be added to the game along with how to prepare for it.
What Time Does Update 1 Go Live?
According to the official twitter page, Update 1goes live on October 19th at 9 AM EST (6 AM PST).Gameloft also advised players that the update may potentially roll out later on some platforms, but they were not specific as to which platforms that would be. It is also recommended that before the game goes live,Disney Dreamlight Valleyplayers should make sure to save their game and have their latest save uploaded to the cloud if they are playing on multiple platformsand have cloud saves enabled.
After installing the update, players that play on multiple platforms should save the game, close the game, and then make sure the update is installed on the other platforms they play on.
How To Prepare For Update 1
Since lots of content is being added intoDisney Dreamlight Valleywith the first major update, some players may be wondering what they can do to be fully ready for the update aside from making sure their latest save is uploaded to the cloud. While Gameloft hasn’t given any details as to how to add Scar to the village yet, it is very likely that players will need to use Dreamlight to open a portal to another realm just like they had to do toadd characters like Moana, Wall-E, and Remy. While there has been no confirmation of this, it never hurts to stock up on Dreamlight ahead of the update by completing Duties.

OnceDisney Dreamlight Valleyplayers have completed enough quests to be able to invite Scar to the village, they may need to build some sort of house or shelter for him like they did for other characters.So farming for some Star Coinsis also a good idea, as building houses can be expensive. If players are looking to earn a large amount of Star Coins, growing and selling Pumpkins is a highly efficient way of getting Star Coins as long as it doesn’t get nerfed in a future update.
Does This Update Include Toy Story Characters?
While Woody and Buzz Lightyearwere confirmed as characters in future updates, they will not be included with Update 1. They are part of Update 2, which will be added to the game later this year. The trailer confirmed that they will have their own realm, so players will want to ensure they have Dreamlight to unlock it when Update 2 comes out later on.
