Midwinter Blight is an in-game event that coincides withDiablo 4’sseasonal content, offering players rewards in the form of weapon and character cosmetics, as well as an additional way to earn loot. The event will run during the Christmas season, and it is lax enough for everyone to collect all its rewards within just a few hours of playtime.
ThisDiablo 4event isn’t that difficult, nor does it offer much in terms ofnew content or activities. However, it’s a refreshing change of pace for players who are looking for more things to do and more stuff to collect. Here’s a quick overview of Midwinter Blight for those who want to sink their teeth into it.

Midwinter Blight Event Overview
Diablo 4’sChristmas event will have playersrunning around the Fractured Peakswhile slaying demons and finishing events. There aren’t any complicated mechanics to go over here, and players can expect a relaxed experience without much time pressure.
The event’s gameplay loop is simple: kill demons, finish events, kill the boss, repeat. Players will be rewarded with materials that can be exchanged forloot and cosmetics. The materials in question are:

300

Kill the Red-Cloaked Horror

Collect enough of these and bring them back toGileonin Kyovashad to earnMidwinter Proofs, the currency used to buy a bunch of unique Midwinter Blight skins and other items (including a Legendary Aspect) available in the exchange shop. Materials are converted at theCollections TableatMidwinter Square.
Exchanging materials for Midwinter Proofs also netMidwinter Tributepoints, which will increase Midwinter Tribute levels and upgrade the totem next to Gileon’s shop. Raising the Tribute tier will give players rewards. Upon reaching Tribute Tier 3, players will be able to touch the totem in Midwinter Square and gain the Midwinter Ward buff, which increases the damage dealt to Blightfiends and the Red-Cloaked Horror.
Seasonal Realm players can join in on the demon-slaying festivities of the Midwinter Blight regardless of what level they are and whatWorld Tier they’re playing on. All they have to do is go to Kyovashad and speak with Gileon at Midwinter Square (located to the immediate left of the waypoint) to get things started. After that, it’s off to the Fractured Peaks for the holiday grind.
Farming this event is usually just a matter of patrolling the event spawn zones around the Fractured Peaks in hopes of encountering the Red-Cloaked Horror, all while taking out large packs of Blightfiends and destroying any Frigid Husks along the way. Enemies in some public events have been replaced by Blightfiends, making them great sources of Blighted Fragments and Lost Heirlooms.
Where to Find the Red-Cloaked Horror
The Midwinter Blight boss is tied to theBlighted Revelryevent, which spawns randomly all over the Fractured Peaks. In this public event, the goal is simply to survive the onslaught of demons. However, to summon the Red-Cloaked Horror, you’ll need to finish the mastery objective, which is tomelt and destroy the Frigid Husksin the event area.
The husks can only be damaged if they are within the orange fire circle. Outside it, they will be immune to damage, so make sure to take them all out as quickly as possible. If the flame circle dies down, interact with the burning wagon in the middle to ignite the fire again. Once all the husks are destroyed, the Red-Cloaked Horror will appear.
This boss is more or less the same as any other field or dungeon boss, and it’s not particularly difficult to beat.Hit it with everything you’ve got, and it’ll eventually explode in the usual shower of lootDiablo 4fans are accustomed to seeing. More importantly, the Red-Cloaked Horror will drop the Red-Cloaked Trophy, which can immediately be converted to Midwinter Proofs.
