We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available toDestinyplayers for the weekend of October 7th.
We’re now three weeks deep into the release ofDestiny: Rise of Ironand thus far things have been going smoothly for the most part. Yes, there was the brief server outage on Wednesday night, but luckily Bungie was able to bring things back online quickly and not too much time was missed.
It’s a good thing too, becauseDestiny’sfirst Iron Banner of Year 3has been easily its most successful yet. Supremacy might not be the perfect mode for such an event (Destinyalready has a shotgun problem in PvP to begin with), but the rewards are a perfect way for players to raise their light level. Not to mention, with theimprovements made to reward dropsat the end of Year 2, Iron Banner is sure to give players more and more gear as they continue to play.
Another great source of gear, specifically exotics, isXur, the Agent of the Nineand weekend vendor inDestiny. Thus far, Xur has only sold one new exotic from the Rise of Iron loot table, but he’s clearly trying to avoid giving players everything they want all at once. He also sells two weapon ornaments each week, which will let players customize their exotic weapons with new color schemes.
This week players can find Xur right next to The Speaker, a spot that he tends to frequent more than most as of late. Head to the left after spawning into the Tower, follow the long hallway and past the emblem kiosk. Xur should be in this area.
For exotic armor, this week Xur has the Thagomizers gauntlets for Titans, the Shinobu’s Vow gauntlets for Hunters, and the Light Beyond Nemesis helmet for Warlocks. It’s a fair trade that Titans and Hunters get one of the new Rise of Iron exotics, after Warlocks got theTransversive Stepsin the first week. Both the Thagomizers and the Shinobu’s Vow gauntlets are great PvP options for their respective classes and worth picking up. The Thagomizers' unique perk is the addition of a second melee charge, while the Shinobu’s Vow help make Bladedancer Hunter’s skip grenades track more aggressively.
Xur’s exotic weapon for this week is the heavy machine gun Thunderlord. It’s an old standard for Xur at this point but is no less valuable for PvE. Grab a Thunderlord if you don’t have one already and enjoy how fast it can shred enemies, especially when the ‘Arc Burn’ modifier is active.
