The first Iron Banner ofDestiny 2’s Season 8 is now live, and players will need to undergo a quest to unlock the armor for the event. This is a new iteration ofthe Iron Banner quest similar to one that was in Season 7, where the way to get armor from the event was only by first completing different steps of the Iron Banner quest.

However, unlike last season’s quest, players can make progress on the main objectives on the questline even if they have not hit a particular step yet with any progress being counted retroactively once it is reached. The quest is character-based, soDestiny 2players will need to complete it on each character to get the armor for that particular character. Players also are unable to turn in any tokens at Lord Saladin for Iron Banner packages until the quest is completed.

To start the quest, visit Lord Saladin in the Tower and pick upthe Spectacle seasonal pursuitfrom his inventory.

Spectacle

The first step of the quest is not very difficult, and most players will be able to get it done in just a few games. Once completed, the players will progress to the Intent step.

Intent

The zones in this step continue to build on the 10 zones from the Spectacle step of this quest, so players do not need to capture 20 more zones in addition to the first step but instead need 10 more to make 20 total captured zones.

Timing

To reiterate, the zones captured and opponents defeated part of this quest will continue to move the bar forward on these objectives that players have already started in previous steps as well as counting progress already made.

Execution

Conviction

The Conviction step of this quest is currently bugged and grenade launchers will not actually progress the step here. Due to a bug, players should instead get final blows with submachine guns here to make progress.

Forgeborn

Finally, players can return to Lord Saladin to finish the quest, and start readily turning in tokens to earn more weapons and armor from the Iron Banner loot pool. Also, this quest is persistent through all ofSeason 8, so players can make progress on it during any Iron Banner event this season. The quest will not expire at the end of this week.
