The last timeCyberpunk 2077made headlines, it was for an unfortunate reason. Back in June of this year, word broke thatfiles of the game had been stolen, with the thief holding CD Projekt Red to a sizable ransom. Now that some time has passed and the studio has seemingly washed its hands of the issue, things are looking brighter for the upcoming role-playing title, with one famous CD Projekt Red collaborator hinting at his involvement with the forthcoming game.

Doug Cockle, the voice of Geralt in the studio’s action role-playing seriesThe Witcher, has indicated that he isn’t aware of any work taking place on a newWitchertitle. However, that’s only because CD Projekt Red is hard at work onCyberpunk 2077–a game Cockle may very well have a part in.

“I know nothing aboutThe Witcher 4,” Cockle revealed during a panel at EGX 2017 while discussing the future of his voice-acting work. “I know they’re very much focusing onCyberpunk[and] I have discussed… the idea of me being involved somehow.” He went on to state that he isn’t sure about the scope of his participation inCyberpunk 2077, as it could be “a major part or just an Easter egg.” In any case, Cockle is keen to be attached to the project. “I hope so, I really enjoy working with them,” he said.

However, Cockle and the creatives atCD Projekt Redhaven’t, as of yet, had “significant contact” regarding the possible collaboration. “We have jokingly talked about it,” clarified Cockle, though it certainly appears those bantering conversations could turn into something solid.

The Polish studio has monumental plans for the forthcomingCyberpunk 2077, though not many details have been dished up since it was announced five years ago. What we do know is that the game is anticipated to be “bigger, better, and evenmore revolutionary thanThe Witcher 3,” and that the studio has “amazingly large ambitions” for it – at least according to studio head Adam Badowski. It’s also expected to be a “huge game,” with a magnitude “much greater” than that ofThe Witcher. Unfortunately, players may be waiting quite a while before the game is actually released.

Cyberpunk 2077is currently in development, with no set platforms or release date in place.
