Cyberpunk 2077is going to feature a massive open-world that isbigger than that ofThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. But, fans of the futuristic RPG want to know that the game will be substance, not just style, and that its setting is actually filled with things to do. So, to get answers, one fan askedCyberpunk 2077developer CD Projekt RED directly.

OneCyberpunk 2077fan sent a message to the game’s official Facebook page asking the studio how big it will be compared toThe Witcher 3. The developer’s representative was more than happy to share, explaining that while the exact world size hasn’t been calculated yet, Night City features “lots of buildings and these buildings have floors.” Many of the taller buildings in the game will be explorable," added the rep, and “each floor can house a lot of activities.”

Cyberpunk 2077 world size messages

It’s not known exactly what these activities will include - this is one thing that the representative didn’t elaborate on during the Facebook conversation. However, CD Projekt RED has previously stated thatside quests in the game will feel like complete stories. This means that players could potentially just enter a tall skyscraper out of curiosity and walk out with bags of quests that will take them hours to complete. If these buildings are as explorable as the studio rep suggests, there could be even more interesting discoveries in these buildings, other than side quests.

As if the chance to learn more about Night City wasn’t enough, there’s also the possibility that these side quests could have a significant impact on the game’s overall narrative. In a previous interview, CD Projekt RED also revealed thatside quests could affect the game’s main story. So there is a huge incentive there to go through all of the floors in these buildings for a chance to influence the story in unexpected ways.

CD Projekt RED may be willing to share on social media, but at this point, fans have only seen the game in public once. Earlier this year, the studio surprised many by unveiling a45-minute long gameplay video, offering a brief glimpse of what players can get up to. If the game is as large and has as much to do as the dev has suggested on Facebook and in interviews then this demo will have barely scratched the surface of whatCyberpunk 2077has to offer.

Cyberpunk 2077currently lacks an official release date, but is expected to launch for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
