For months,Call of Duty: Warzonehas been building up to a big nuke event that will wipe away the existing battle royale map and introduce a new one. While some believed that theCall of Duty: Warzonenuke event would happen last month, the leaked dates came and went with no such event taking place. Now Activision has seemingly confirmed the exact date and time of theCall of Duty: Warzonenuke event, so fans of the game should mark their calendars accordingly.
The officialCall of DutyTwitter account uploaded a short teaser trailer that is clearlyWarzone-related, showing what appears to be the Zombie symbol seen at theZombie locations currently in Verdansk. It includes the date April 21, next Wednesday, along with the time 12pm PT. The teaser was accompanied with the text “The end is near…” with no additional context. However, it’s probably safe to assume that this is in reference to theCall of Duty: Warzonenuke event, which will apparently be taking place on Wednesday, April 21 at 12pm PT.

Now thatCall of Duty: Warzonefans know the exact date and time of the probable nuke event, they can plan ahead to witness it. However, it remains to be seen exactly how it will go down. A bug has made theCall of Duty: Warzonenuke eventgo off early for some players, so it does seem like it will be an in-game event, not unlike whatFortnitedoes.
Additional details on theCall of Duty: Warzonenuke event aren’t available at this time, though Activision has teased where the nuke may be landing. It seems as though theCall of Duty: Warzonenuke will be hitting the Dam area, which will presumably mean that the Dam is going to be completely missing in the new map. Dam’s demise has long been rumored inCall of Duty: Warzone, so it makes sense that it would be the area targeted by the nuke. Of course, it’s also possible that this teaser is for something completely different (though that seems unlikely).
When theCall of Duty: Warzonenuke event takes place on April 21 at 12pm PT, it’s unclear exactly what will happen next. Various leaks have pointed toCall of Duty: Warzoneintroducing a1980s version of Verdanskas the new map, but that has yet to be confirmed. Fans will have to make sure that they’re playing when theCall of Duty: Warzonenuke event goes live to find out for sure.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
