DLC and significant post-launch support has been a consistent feature forCall of Dutygames for years, and so it comes as no surprise thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfareis no different in that regard. In a recent investors call, Activision COO Coddy Johnson touched onCall of Duty: Modern Warfare’s DLC plans, claiming that the game will more DLC than any otherCall of Dutygame in series history.
Johnson didn’t provide specifics as to what fans can expect from the “largest post-launch content pipeline in franchise history,” but there has already been some announcements about whatCall of Duty: Modern Warfare’s DLC will have in store. We know that the game will be addingnew multiplayer maps for free, to avoid splitting the community, and that it will more likely than not have a ton of cosmetic DLC that players will be able to buy using microtransactions.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfarewill also likely have seasonal events and the like to keep fans engaged with the game long after launch. These events are sure to introduce new game modes, weapons, customization options, and more. In the meantime, the most substantial post-launch update forCall of Duty: Modern Warfaremay come to the game at some point in 2020.
Leakers have claimed thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfarewill get a battle royale mode in 2020. However, where theCall of Duty: Modern Warfarebattle royale mode differs fromBlack Ops 4’s Blackout battle royale mode is that it will apparently be free-to-play, not requiring players to own theModern Warfarebase game. ACall of Duty: Modern Warfarebattle royale mode has yet to be confirmed by Activision or Infinity Ward, but it does appear to be in the works.
Battle royale inCall of Duty: Modern Warfarewill give Infinity Ward even more opportunities to add new DLC to the game. Taking that into account with everything else thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfarehas planned, and it’s easy to believe Johnson’s claim that the game will have the “largest post-launch content pipeline in franchise history.” But before fans need to worry themselves about theCall of Duty: Modern WarfareDLC, they will have to wait for the game itself to launch first, which is happening in just a couple of months time.
