BothCall of Duty Modern Warfare&Warzonereceived a substantial update this week, asCall of Dutyrolls on through its Season 3 campaign. Offering a few new weapons, a refresh on the playlists, and changes tothe gas circle in Warzone, the game continues to give players new reasons to log in. This weekend, that incentive will be increased, as a double XP event is underway.
From now until 10 am on Monday, May 4, players will earn double XP, double weapon XP, and double their earn rate in Battle Pass tier progression. The leveling grind can be slow inModern WarfareandWarzone, so a double experience points weekend can help players reach their point targets faster. If a player goes on a real hot streak,like some of these sharpshooters, then the earned points will accumulate in a hurry.

While the latest update to the game has, for the most part, implemented interesting changes, and offers some real challenges to unlock some powerful weapons, the update has caused some issues for theCall of Dutyteam. A crucial component of success in any of the team-based playlists revolves around good communication with teammates.
The influx of players flocking to the game to check out the new update or take part in the double XP event could be putting some strain on the servers, as players find thatmatchmaking times are long right now. Since the update, and particularly after the patch that dropped on April 30, players have found that the usually quick ping for a match is taking much longer than before.
When running a game that has a player base upwards of 50 million worldwide, keeping things running smoothly and players happy are often a challenge. For instance,the popularWarzoneBounty contract was droppedwith the April 28 update in favor of the “Most Wanted” contract, which proved unpopular. After hearing the negative backlash, Infinity Ward reinstated the Bounty contract and has pulled back the Most Wanted contract for now.
