Sledgehammer Games has confirmed players will get their first look at the up-and-coming multiplayer modes forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3on October 3. Primarily developed by Sledgehammer with help from both Infinity Ward and Treyarch,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3is the direct sequel to last year’sModern Warfare 2and sees players rejoin Task Force 141 as they hunt down the criminal Vladimir Makarov.

Sledgehammer and Activision have been drip-feeding information surrounding the latest entry in the long-running shooter franchise since it was officially announced in September. Fans have been excited since the popularZombies mode will be returning inModern Warfare 3in a new open-world format when the game releases on November 10. In addition, players are still waiting to get a glimpse of the shooter’s main selling point - the multiplayer modes.

Gamers won’t have to wait long to see the multiplayer modes inModern Warfare 3,however, as a trailer will be released on October 3. The announcement was posted across the officialCall of Dutysocial channels with an expected release time of 7 AM PT / 10 AM EST. The post only confirms the date and time of the reveal trailer, with a direct link to the game’s YouTube channel.

Fans are already excited forModern Warfare 3and the trailer releasing at 7 AM PT on October 3 is set to push the anticipation further. That is in part due to Sledgehammer confirming that16 remastered maps from 2009’sModern Warfare 2will be available at launch. The video will be the first look at these reworked maps some 14 years after they first debuted during the PS3/Xbox 360 era.

The news comes as a somewhat surprise for fans as the developers also announced thechanges to the Gunsmith tool inModern Warfare 3earlier on October 2. The main change is that players will now be able to utilize “Aftermarket parts” to convert weapons into a different type completely.
