One of the biggest questions in theCall of Dutycommunity is if the upcomingCall of Duty 2021will haveWarzoneintegration similar toCall of Duty: Blacks Ops Cold War. WhileCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warhas integrated withWarzonewith a little backlash due to meta changes,Call of Duty 2021may have some different challenges that could affect its integration.

Call of Duty 2021will reportedly be set in World War 2, which is a drastically different setting than bothCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarandModern Warfare. Although theWarzoneintegration was a little rough withBlack Ops Cold War, the gameplay works due to weapons and equipment being relatively similar. However, ifCall of Duty 2021is set during WW2, developers are uncertain how integration withWarzonewill work.

ACall of Duty 2021leakclaims the game will also be set in an alternative timeline where WW2 never ended, so it is possible the title will feature weapons and equipment from an era after the original timeline of WW2, but most likely the title will also feature era-accurate weapons as well. However, despite being in set in very different eras,Call of Duty 2021will reportedly share weapons and player progression systems withWarzone.

However,Call of Duty 2021may take the same integration path asBlack Ops Cold War. Upon release,Black Ops Cold Warwas barely integrated withWarzone, but nowWarzonemay have aBlack Ops-themed eventthat will change the map and gameplay drastically.Call of Duty 2021may not get its ownWarzonemap upon release, but could change theWarzonemap to fit its WW2 theme.

Call of Dutydevelopers have stated thatWarzonewill be front and center for years to come, soCall of Duty 2021is expected to integrate withWarzone, although how in depth the integration will be is unclear. Now that one majorCall of Dutytitle has been integrated with the free-to-play battle royale, developers have a better idea how torelease content for the multipleCall of Dutytitles tied intoWarzone.

Along with the leak stating the theme ofCall of Duty 2021, another leak has indicated thatCall of Duty 2021will bring back a controversial featurethat has been seen inCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. These leaks have not been officially confirmed by Activision, and could be subject to change beforeCall of Duty 2021’srelease.

Call of Duty 2021is in development for unspecified platforms.
