The painting was then posted on social media by the artist, and other gamers praised them for their depiction and debated among themselves who they believed would win a one-on-one duel betweenThe Witcherand the Dovahkiin.
While debates over who would win in a fight have been a timeless endeavor for gamers and fans, both the Dragonborn and the titular Witcher bring a lot more than just their swords into battle. Geralt is more sarcastic in tone, too, whereas the Dragonborn is mostly a silent protagonist whose mannerisms are dependent on whatSkyrimplayers want them to be. However, with Dragon Shouts and a vast arsenal of items at their disposal, few foes have stood toe-to-toe withthe powerful Dovahkiin. That has not stopped fans from wondering what would happen if these two characters met, though.

On Reddit, a user named Entar0178, also known as dndartstore on Etsy, painted their take on what would happen if the heroes ofSkyrimandThe Witchergot into a duel. The OP posted their oil on canvas painting on the r/TheWitcher subreddit. In the painting, the Dragonborn’s face is obscured and fixed squarely on the Butcher of Blaviken. Both the Dragonborn and Geralt are depicted in their armor from promotional materials for their respective games, and both have their steelswords drawn and ready for combat. The town of Riverwood was chosen as the stage for the duel, with no guards or onlookers in sight, and an aurora borealis covering the night sky.
Entar1078’s painting received over 1.1k upvotes on the r/TheWitcher subreddit. Other Reddtiors praised the OP for their painting. However, the majority of the comments agreed that if such a fight took place, the Dragonborn’s Dragon Shouts and more varied choice of items would give him an advantage overThe Witcher. The commenters also stated thatGeralt’s monster-slaying experienceand uncanny resilience would keep him in the fight for a bit, ensuring it would not be too one-sided.
Though dueling a Witcher in Riverwood would be one of the strangest encounters the Dragonborn could face, it remains to be seen ifThe WitcherandThe Elder Scrollsseries will have a crossover one day. Until then, these encounters will remain in the minds of gamers.
