K.K. Slider is one of the most popular non-villager characters inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, ranking with Isabelle near the top of most fans’ lists. As such, his weekly concerts have become a popular attraction in the new andincredibly successfulAnimal Crossinggame, usually occurring every Saturday. Today though, K.K. Slider has shown up to perform on a Monday.
K.K. almost always shows up on the same time and day forNew Horizonsplayers, with the option to request songs and listen to music with friends and villagers being a constant attraction that players can always expect to see. Even with new additions, such as theDream Suite being added toNew Horizons, K.K’s appearances have been consistent. Today, though, that consistency ended.

K.K’s schedule is usually only adjusted by a day whenever there is a Bug Off or Fishing Tourney, so players seeing the singing dog on a Monday is certainly off-putting. The reasoning makes sense when looking at his other concert delays, though, and players probably do not have to deal with this again until next August. Instead, they can go back tofinding clever ways to play Rugbyand coming up with other awesome creations.
The recentaddition of fireworks toAnimal Crossing: New Horizonshas meant that Sundays are busy, removing a weekly slot for certain special characters to show up. This is the day K.K. Slider’s concerts are usually delayed to, so with that block now full, K.K. had to move all the way to Monday due to Flick’s Saturday Bug Off. Players will not have to deal with this frustration (or pleasant surprise, depending who you are) again, as Fireworks are leaving at the end of August.
This does raise the question of what future changes could be made to K.K.’s schedule, if any. Bug offs and Fishing Tourneys are leaving the game after the Summer months as well, with a decent chunk of time set aside where Flick and CJ will not be hosting their Saturday showdowns. This means that K.K. Slider’s weekly slot should be more consistent going forward, unless some new events are released and set to occur on Saturdays. It seems more likely that any new special events drop on Sunday, however, as that slot will be empty after August. Hopefully, if new events come, new shops come toNew Horizonstoo.
K.K. Slider’s odd Monday appearance should not be happening again anytime soon, and knowing exactly when to expect his performances should be a relief to players. For a while, at least,Animal Crossing: New Horizonsfans can safely expect Saturday to be the day they can request to hear gems like K.K. Bubblegum and Mountain Song.
