This guide provides detailedinstructions on how to build a reliable team, regardless of your rank and units. It includes composition suggestions for both beginner and advanced players.

Given the shift towards tank-support strategies, we have developed one of the most effective lineups featuring Heroes that high-ranked players typically own. However, if you’re a beginner or don’t have access to rare characters, you’re able to still use other compositions provided in this guide to rank up.
The Best Team Composition
In most formations, the optimal composition follows the DEF, DD, H/S (Defense, Damage Dealer, Healer/Support) structure. For the defensive line, choose a Tank. Use Warriors, Marksmen, and Rogues as Damage Dealers while relying on Mages and Supports to provide healing and long-range backup for the team.
In the current end-game meta, Damage Dealers have lost their significance, as Support and Healer units can deal sufficient damage once maxed out and equipped properly. This shift has influenced metagame compositions, which now revolve around tank-support strategies rather than traditional damage-dealing roles.

Currently, the highest-performing team composition inAFK Journey’s end-game content isa support-tank setup featuring Smokey, Hewynn, Rowan, Phraesto, and Eironn. To make this lineup work, you should max out all these Heroes and equip Smokey with his Exclusive Equipment. The idea is to use Eironn’s crowd-control effect to draw enemies in, allowing Smokey to deal damage while the other Heroes—Rowan, Hewynn, and Phraesto—provide essential support to the team.
